This is the cheapest system I could find with 4 cameras.
The product is nice. Cameras has a very clear image.
Do not spect a professional system for this price. For example, when the cameras are conected and you move one of the cables on the connectors`s rack, one or more of the cameras can loose the image. That tell`s you that this is not a heavy duty equipment. But as long as the recording unit stays on a safe place and the wires well attached to a wall, the video stays very good.
The remote has to be kept 1 ft close to the unit to get it to work.

you get what you pay for and you didn't pay enough for this item. take it back while you still can. avoid the purchase if possible.

(More customer reviews)I spent a great deal of time installing cameras for one of these DVRs (for home security) only to find out that the DVR did not work.Silly me, I called tech support only to find that Swann is an Australian company so their tech support is never open when anyone except for American vampires or long-haul truckers might be awake.By using the Swann website, I've found that the HD is defective and Swann will not replace it unless I pay to return the unit to them.This company does not stand behind it's products.Do not buy this DVR.You should absolutely not rely on a piece of junk like this for any sense of security for life, property, or business.

(More customer reviews)They make it sound so good but the software sucks, especially the record schedule setup and the usb backup process.The motion detection of the unit sucks too.The manual is no help, you have to guess at what the Chinese English is trying to tell you.I purchased a recommended 8 gig USB stick for the backup and the system only recognised it the first time.It took over 45 minutes to backup about 9 hours and when I put it in my pc and ran their file viewer software, all i had was 4 blue boxes and about 4 minutes of video.Since then all I get are messages saying the file size is too big (even though it's way less than 8gig) or fail to read file system.Reformating didn't solve anything.I'm so fed up.I want to drop kick this thing all the way back to china!!

Oh, btw, there's no way to remove the files from the HDD either.The system settings for 'disk full' is, stop recording OR overwrite files.What kind of crap is that?
