(More customer reviews)I bought one of these along with my neighbor from another site about a year ago.The motion detection is absolutely useless, so if you really want that feature buy another DVR.The remote control isn't intuitive at all so it makes it a little annoying to navigate the menus.If you have less than 4 cameras, you can disable the unused video inputs but when you set it to auto cycle through all the cameras, it still shows the blank blue screen for those inputs.Since this is an entry level CCTV DVR, it doesn't multitask, which means you have to stop recording to playback recordings.Other than those complaints the DVR works fairly well.Once in a while when the power goes out, when the DVR starts up it prompts to recover the HD where it left off, I'm not real sure what that means but it will stay at that prompt forever until you answer the question, which means if it happens while you're on vacation there goes your security system until you get back to say YES.This sounds like a negative review but for the price this isn't too bad of a choice.If you can find a DVR with functional motion detection for around this price, I'd get that one instead.
