(More customer reviews)I have been using digital recorders for many years.I use them daily in my line of work.If I leave home without one, I turn around and drive back and get one.

The Philips is a disappointment.It is hard to use.The Ergonomics were designed by engineers I assume.Companies make mistakes by not having input from the end user.If you can't use one of these recorder with one hand (easily) why have a small one?Quality is good but a very low grade for the ergonomics.I can't use it with one hand.Olympus will be out with one in August that looks promising.I look for quality and ease of use with one hand.Also, make it super simple to set up with the time, date, etc.

This one fails in my opinion.Philips needs to call end users and get their input.

(More customer reviews)I ordered the Philips because of the design of the buttons.It looked easy to use and mostly is.One fault, though, is if you change your mind about deleting an item, it's hard to back out of the menu.I think I had to turn it off.Another disappointment is that I cannot delete just a part of a recording, to edit it down.Lastly, was excited to know that I could add mp3 files to the recorder.I am disappointed it doesn't play them as well.I later realized a more expensive model would offer that option.

I had bought this recorder so that I could learn fiddle music.It's okay for that- perhaps more so with an accessory mic.We also record our children, for fun, and it's fine for that as well.Mostly I'm just disappointed I cannot download other fiddle tunes and play them back on one machine- I have to get a separate MP3 player.
