It is a tad wide for the "Sony ICD-UX71 Digital Recorder", but I suppose that leaves room for adding extra items to it in the extra front pocket. It fully encloses the digital recorder, and for that reason I personally prefer the "Olympus Premium Case" (Case for digital voice recorder - black), which is near-perfect for the "Sony ICD-UX71 Digital Recorder" as it allows easy access to almost all of its functions. Also, this product's O-ring spring clip is good/solid (unlikely to slip off) for hanging from a belt or pant belt loop (if you have one).
